The historic Sholakia Eidgah in Kishoreganj is gearing up for the country’s largest Eid congregation as preparations for the 197th Eid Jamaat have been completed. The congregation, set to commence at 10 am, promises to be a momentous event for worshippers from far and wide.
In anticipation of the grand occasion, all arrangements have been meticulously organised, including the appointment of an alternate imam. Maulana Farid Uddin Masood is slated to lead the congregation, with Imam Hafez Maulana Shoaib Abdur Rauf ready to step in if needed.
A thorough inspection of the Eidgah ground was conducted by Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, President of the Sholakia Eidgah Management Committee and Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj, alongside Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh. They ensured that all necessary measures were in place for the safety and security of worshippers.
Speaking on the preparations, Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad emphasised the installation of CCTV cameras and the deployment of ample security personnel, including police, RAB, Ansar, and executive magistrates. Additionally, five platoons of BGB will be stationed to maintain order and peace during the congregation.
In a bid to facilitate the participation of worshippers, special trains named ‘Sholakia Express’ have been arranged on the Bhairab-Kishoreganj-Bhairab and Mymensingh-Kishoreganj-Mymensingh lines. These trains will ensure convenient transportation for those attending the Eid congregation.
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh reiterated the commitment to ensuring top-notch security, with a focus on swift action in response to any security concerns. Mayor of Kishoreganj Municipality, Parvez Mia, expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive preparations, including beautification efforts and road repairs, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees.
As the excitement builds for the 197th Eid Jamaat at Sholakia Eidgah, the community of Kishoreganj eagerly awaits a day of prayer, reflection, and celebration.
